Privacy policy
Last updated 7 October 2026
FlipSwipe is run by FlipSwipe ("we"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the FlipSwipe app, why, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and a password (stored securely by our authentication provider; we never see the password itself).
- Your area: the postcode or town you give us, or your approximate location if you allow it, so we can show listings near you. We store the postcode and search settings, not a history of where you've been.
- What you do with flips: the flips you save or skip, unlock timers, and your settings, so the app works across sessions.
- Onboarding answers: the categories, monthly goal and time you choose, used to tailor the app.
- Usage events: simple in-app events (for example, a screen reached or a flip saved) to understand and improve the app. These are tied to your account and are not used for advertising.
- Purchases: if you subscribe to FlipSwipe+, Apple handles the payment. We receive the subscription status (active, trial, expired) from Apple through RevenueCat, never your card details.
This website
If you join the waitlist on flipswipe.co.uk, we keep your email address (and any optional answers you give, like your area or the price you'd expect to pay) to email you about early access and launch. We also record simple page events, like visits and button taps, to see how the site is used. You can ask us to remove you at any time.
Why we use it
To provide the service you've asked for (performance of a contract), to keep it secure and working, and to improve it (our legitimate interests). We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run FlipSwipe for us: Supabase (database and sign-in), RevenueCat and Apple (subscriptions), Upstash (job queue), our hosting providers, and postcodes.io (to turn a location into a postcode or area name, which receives approximate coordinates only). Each processes data only on our instructions.
Listings
Listings shown in the app come from public marketplace pages. We link to the original listing; contacting a seller or buying happens on that marketplace, under its own terms and privacy policy.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your account, saved flips, settings and unlocks are deleted straight away; usage events are kept without anything that identifies you.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings, Account, Delete account). For anything else, email hello@flipswipe.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
FlipSwipe isn't for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
